Practices, clinics and offices

My commercial work includes four dental clinics for TandHart in Amsterdam: Noord, Oost, Oosterpark and Amerbos, each with treatment rooms, a waiting room and a reception designed to put nervous patients at ease. The same approach works for other practices, offices and studios: a plan that makes the daily routine of the staff easier, and a look that tells customers what kind of business they have walked into.

Shops and visual merchandising

For shops and showrooms I plan the route through the space, the displays, the lighting and the window, so products are seen and the shop is easy to work in. Visual merchandising on its own is possible too: restyling an existing shop for a new season or collection.

Planned around your opening hours

Commercial renovations happen in evenings, at weekends or in phases, so the doors can stay open. I plan the work with the contractor around that, and prepare the drawings and specifications a clinic or shop requires.

Good to know

What kind of businesses do you design for?
Dental and medical practices, offices, studios, shops and showrooms. If customers or staff spend their day in it, it can be designed better.
Can the business stay open during the work?
Usually yes. The work is planned in phases or outside opening hours, and the sequence is agreed with you and the contractor beforehand.
Do you also choose furniture and fittings?
Yes. Reception desks, waiting-room seating, lighting, storage and finishes are part of the design, and I can manage the orders and the installation.
Where do you work?
Amsterdam and the surrounding area, including Amstelveen.
