When I first saw this place before we launched the remodeling process, it was an old-fashioned house. It’s out-dated and somewhat uninspiring designed kitchen and rooms were colored with rather dull, brown hues. Overall, it had the looks of a place that desperately needed a revival.

The first step of renovation was to understand the client's needs, style, and preferable colors, alongside defining the best possible layout of the rooms.

When we figured out how to combine the living room's gray brick wall with the massive fireplace, the modern, semi-industrial style came to mind. The dark gray of the fireplace with the light gray of the bricks made the living room appear lighter and more modern altogether.

My client's special request was to add as much blue color as possible all over the house. He loves a colorful and vibrant atmosphere. We enjoyed playing with the various hues of blue, painting some walls with different shadows. Not fifty shades, though, but quite a few are definitely present here.

Blue apparently wasn't enough by itself, and my client asked for some orange colors to be present as well. Orange refrigerator, to be precise, was the initial request. To boost the colorful and jolly atmosphere of the home.

I had a different opinion. Believing that the orange refrigerator will simply not look as good as imagined and won't fit the style, though it's definitely colorful, I suggested a creative solution. There is no orange refrigerator, but an orange sofa, orange cushions in the hobby room, and an orange armchair.
This can be an excellent example of expressing a professional opinion yet being extremely considerate of customer's preferences. He is the one to live in this house, and his opinion matters the most.

More innovations in the living room included installing up-to-date underfloor heating and replacing the old floor layer with a modern PVC. There's nothing like stepping with your barefoot on the warm, heated floor on a freezing winter day, holding a steaming cup of freshly made coffee.

One of my favorite parts here was, by far, planning the kitchen. We broke down some walls, shifted the location of the door, and replaced it with a modern black glass sliding door.

Constructing a kitchen island is always a pivotal chapter. From what I've experienced, it's one of the client's most impactful and satisfying remodeling elements. And, why is that? The black-marble kitchen island is a significant addition to the house, and it's entirely built from scratch. It expands the working area in the kitchen, serves as a dining table, as an extra storage place, it hadn't been there before and, it's just beautiful!
Adding to this, wooden cupboards were included, matching the client's vision of colors. The kitchen now has wooden cabinets, a black marble island, a solid sliding door, plenty of light and taste. And it's alright for the refrigerator not to be orange, nevertheless, don't you think?

Let's now proceed to evaluate the bathroom's renewal. The bathroom was renovated, as well, to fit the style but also to be expanded. The shower stall was initially tiny and we made it more spacious. Conservative brown ceramics were replaced with modern gray, matching the prevailing style. The bathroom simply can't be recognized now.

My client's passion for music is obvious- guitars can be found all over the house, real or painted. To address this desire, we created a hobby room. Its angled roof dictated the unique bookcase construction. A remarkable structure, consisting of individual wooden fruit boxes, compiled as shelves hanging on the wall. It's not something my client expected, but this is the exciting part; there is always an array of unexpected, original solutions coming out of hand.

Now, the big bedroom. It was painted deep dark blue (of course), and a large mirrored wardrobe was placed. Another blue room on the second floor is the guest room, bearing in mind the client's two daughters who constantly come to stay. They chose the animals' single-line sketches on top of their beds.
When the girls are not there, their room serves as a fitness space. The other room on the second floor is utilized as an office.

We launched the project in the middle of the Covid period, and it took us around six months to accomplish it. Some challenges were faced, such as delayed deliveries because of the world's general turmoil of that time. But, as you already know, there's no renovation process with no obstacles, without any rising challenges. The point is to overcome it in the best way, and I think we succeeded in this.

The house now looks alive, colorful, refined, modern, and stylish. I am satisfied with the work process and its outcome. So are my client and his daughters.
